A trip to Bali does not represent a major risk to your health. Malaria and dengue fever are not a major problem here, but you do face a small risk, particularly in some parts of Bali and be aware for the mosquitoes.
If you need medical treatment, there are some very good, large and high standard hospitals in Denpasar, and a number of smaller hospitals and clinics around the island. The best and biggest hospital on Bali is:
Sanglah General Hospital
Diponegoro Street, Denpasar
Tel.: +62 361 227 911 through 15 (general)
Tel.: +62 361 226 363 (emergency unit).
The Sanglah Hospital also has the only hyperbaric chamber on Bali. This chamber is usable around the clock and on a really high standard.
When you need some medicine, you can easily go to pharmacies called apotik which stock many useful medications from international brands.

The official currency in Bali is the Indonesia Rupiah (IDR), but in the Orca Dive Club payment is accepted in most major currencies (Euro, US$, GBP Sterling, SFR). We also accept the most international credit cards.
Inside of Candidasa village, the local people mostly accepts only Indonesia Rupiah or US$, but you can also find some fair and trustable money changer in Candidasa.

Bali is tropical, and daily highs average 31°C and nightly lows, 22°C. It is much cooler in the highlands, and along the coast sea breezes moderates the temperatures and the climate is quite pleasant. The rainy season here is quiet moderate because the every time breeze above the sea let the clouds not stay for a long time above the island.

Our normal water temperature is around 27°C and for this it will be enough to use a long 3mm suit but sometimes if the deep water currencies bring cold water to some places, it is better to be prepared with the thicker suit like 5mm.

In our diving center, you will find every time a German and English speaking instructor and our local team members speak fluent English and Indonesia.
The official language in Bali is Balinese or Indonesian, but the local people mostly understand and speak English and they are every time friendly, helpful.

Bali´s electrical grid is 220-240 Volt at 50 hertz. The plugs are mostly Euro style, with two round-section pins. There is little excess capacity, and particularly in the remote areas, hotels and restaurants make do with very little power. Voltage stabilizers are a good idea for computers and other sensitive equipment. Sometimes we have electric black outs but in the most hotels you have generators in work and you don’t feel it.

This is not a general practice in Bali; in the larger hotels a service charge is already included. In smaller hotels and restaurants tips are not expected. However, if the service has been good a token of Rp 5.000 or Rp 10.000 would be appreciated. Tax and service charge amount to 21% on top of all bills.

Most private businesses are open from 9am to 5pm. Shops from 9am to 9pm. For restaurants, mostly they open from 8am to 9pm, and for bars they open a few more hours later. In big Hindus holidays, most of governmental offices and businesses are closed for one day. Special in Candidasa the restaurants and shops are closing in the same time around 9 to 10 pm.
